  • Bridge batt power for relay switch?

Okai at the moment i have my inverter hooked straight up to the battery. Fuse at the battery end of power cable.

Just before the power reaches the inverter i have a relay which is hooked up to the acc line.

So when i crank my car, the computer reboots, not because of low voltage but because acc line cuts out when cranking.

So instead of using the acc line, can i splice the power cable that goes to the relay and just hook the switch at my dash to this and then to the switch on the relay.

So basically i just replace the acc line thats switching my relay with a permament batt line.

    This should be okai yes?

can you just put a delay on that? maybe a simple cap and resistor? that way the relay would stay open during crank?

Actually i want to be able to keep the comp on when i take the keys out, say i go to fill up petrol i dont want to leave my keys in the car.

So for this i need the power for the switch on the relay hooked up to a permament 12V.

So is it safe to hook the relay switch line directly to the battery with a small switch inline so i can switch the relay open/closed?

Also does the acc line become a 14.4 volt line when the car is on because of the alternator, or does it stay at 12?

I believe that the Acc. line stays 12V because it is regulated by the voltage regulator. I think this is true. If someone could verify this that would be nice .

            BTW; I'm new here. Hi!
