  • Question about Start Up and Shutdown

I'm new to this, so excuse my stupidity.

I recently picked up a mini PC and touch screen for my car. I was using a laptop in my car for tuning / fuel management program and I decided I wanted to take things a little further. I wanted a PC for MP3's, GPS, internet.

Before I saw this site I didn't know there was a different way to do it besides buying a PC, but it's already installed and I don't want to change it if I don't have to.

I saw on here shutdown and start up controllers, but what I wanted to know is if and how these can be used with an actual home PC? I'd like the computer to boot up and shut down with the turn of my key, instead of having to manually do it.

    Any advice would be appreciated....

You have to have a power supply first. The Opus has that built in.

Not necessarily. A shutdown controller can also be used with an inverter.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
      How about the Wiki?
