  • Replacement for MAX788cck and MAX787cck

i'm still building the Sproggy MK2,5 power supply, but I have a few problems here.

The pcb is ready, but now i wanted to collect all parts before i move on.
And I'm having big trouble on finding the Right Maxim Regulators (Max787cck is sold in my country by Farnell, but they don't sell the MAX788CCK, which i also need. Also the one they did have in stock is very expensive)

Does anybody know if, and which other parts with the same characteristics i can use in this PSU design ?

'cause if this doesn't work out, i'll have to get an inverter and i don't want to do that..

    Any help is appreciated !!!

Purchase a free sample, sounds like a rip-off, LOL

Raas - I've requested some free samples from Maxim, through my company (I work in Holland though I'm not Dutch). They're supposed to send two of each, so if you have problems requesting samples, you can have one of my 788s (provided they do send them to me, of course). Do you have access to PCB equipment? Is there any way to make an extra PCB for me too (time/cost)?

Go to Maxim's site and do a search and see what comparable chipsets they list. Or, go to www.Digikey.com or www.Mouser.com. Search for the chip you're looking for. Sometimes you'll get comparable chips that way, too.

Sorry that I didn't reply for a few days, but I went on a short-break last weekend so I didn't have time to look at the board

          Thanks All for your suggestions

Thats what I did like about 4 weeks ago, I ordered 3 of each from them , but till today I haven't got anything in my mail yet..

Well, I made 2 of these pcb's, but one has not been in the liquid-bath.. If you could do that yourself (etsen), you may have it, (for free, 'cause these things didn't cost me a nickle either) and I will send it to you through mail if you mail me the adres and we'll keep in touch

          Tony...
I haven't been to the sites you suggested, but i will check'em out. Thanks for the links !

          Thanks all

What transformer are you using in place of the Coilcraft one?

I could purchase the coilcraft transformer from the electronicsstore in my town, so i haven't looked for a replacement for that one, sorry..
