  • PW-200 V and Regulator Question

I've fought myself from doing it but I have to ask since I've looked around and haven't found the answer I'm looking for or any clear/definate input. It seems everyone is hands down against the whole "unregulated" 12volts/162 watts going into the motherboard, but would a 12 volt regulator help overcome this problem? I seems everyone's so concern about feeding 12volts "raw" to the boad, and I honestly share this but the seller is trying to tell me it's already been regulated. It's going to power a migrus coard with a cel P4. I was hoping I could savlage the package I bought of ebay. I paid 250 for the board, 2.2 ghrz, and pw-200 V. I've looked this up but doesn't seem as though anyone got regulator. by the way, would any standard car regulator work or does it have to be the 60 one fomr tha mp2car shop?
    thanks your time

The PW-200 doesn't regulate the 12 volt power. It simply connects it straight through without regulating it. You can learn about it here.

Hey man, thanks I did see that.. but then I read other places that 5 amps is not enough to drive a p4. I found a cheap itx ac power supply on e-bay, I guess I'll use that since I already have the inverter.

You should do a little search to see what is the disavantage of using AC/Inverter.
