You said that you have enough parts left to build a 2nd sproggy ps.
Could you please let me know the cost of building one supply, and also a list of where you obtained the parts from??

    Thanks buddy!

I had to buy te Coil Craft components direct from them. They wouldnt give me samples The cost about $10 for each inductor and about $70 or so for the Flyback Tranny.
PCB cost me $10 from Mastero, about $10 for the resistors, CMOS and some Capacitors. About $20 for the Low ESR caps from Farnells in Sydney. $4-5 for the Relay. The 47uh coils were samples from Renco Electronics in the States. With leads and Heatsink, prolly cost me $140.

I figure with a few hours labour, $190 isnt too bad.

We appreciate the sarcasm as usual............

Hornet asked how much I payed for the parts.
        I answered.

I couldnt get the parts as samples so I bought them. (nice of me huh?)

Going by your costs, you should be able to sell me a dc-dc supply for under $100 fully assembled?!?!?!?!?!?
Thats great......................do you accept Pay Pal?
        When will it be ready?

Dont start this **** again please.

No, I am serious.. You should be able to make one for like $40 if you can get free samples, and use second hand parts..
Yeah, I was going to make one, then sell it for like $100 just to make some profit as I have no money..

If you were seriously going to sell these for under $100, you are nuts.
My point was that you cant get samples forever. You old computer parts arent going to last forever either. Pretty soon you ACTUALLY have to pay for things. Period.

.........................wait a minute, you actually made a circuit that works? You mean you havent burned your EA Falcon to the ground? Or is this just hypothetical? You have actually got the parts and assembled them?

            Tell me it aint so............

Yoy Skinny, making a profit on a sample parts is the same as stealling from that company.
And because of the smart arses like you those comapies refuse to give out samples to other people that are really working on they prototypes.
Think about the things you do before doing them! It doesn't only effect you but effects all of us!

And if you want to know $31 is way to much that you paid for your PS (if you actually have one).

I wasn't going to sell them using free samples, I just got enough to make 2 power supplies, and didn't have any use for the others, so I was going to make 2 PS sell one and keep one... not make money from them, well, not much, but just help out a fellow aussie who couldn't get his hands on teh parts...

I paid 200-220 and i have enough parts to make 30 sproggy supplies... It was cause of a messup at newark electronics and they let me keep alot of parts extra instead of just sending them back but still sent me double the parts in an extra shipment great customer service

Time for a bit of maths...

                          $230 (spent) / 30 (enough parts to build 30 supplys) = ~ $8 each.
take into account the poor aussie dollar...thats about $16au... add some freight...and thats a cheap kit for a sproggy...

                          do you accept pay pal??

but seriously, if you are looking to sell some kits, let me know.
