Been reading the manual, it says under the Front Panel Connector section (JP3/JP9) that #6 is the Power_SW. Is this what I need to connect J8 to?

Yes, most likely. That's where it is on most all motherboards. It's likely that "Power_SW" or something similar is silkscreened on the mobo under the two appropriate pins.

Hey, just want to be sure on this, in the manual it says #6 is Power_SW and #8 is GRND, and in the picture it shows a line connecting 6 and 8. So do I plug the wire from J8 into just the #6 pin or both #6 and #8?

              both

the plug should have two holes in it, one for power and one for ground.
