  • OPUS VS CNX p1900

i have heard so many great things about P1900

but i lot of people go with OPUS, and there are more OPUS problems posted on the forums
i had an M1-atx, but planning to go with the full computer mATX set up?

Also Carnetix is $20.00 cheaper than OPUS on Sale

The decision needs to be based on the hardware you intend to power with the PSU. The carnetix is designed for PCs like the AOpen pandora that have a single power input, whereas the Opus unit is designed to power an ATX-compliant motherboard.

Also, the vast majority of problems people have with any of the DC PSUs available are self-caused by either trying to power too much with the PSU, wiring it incorrectly and so on. All of the readily-available DC PSUs are quality units.

          Good read!

I need to find a PSU that will have shutdown controller functions and run on a commell 677 atx type MB. The PSU will also drive all other PC related components including HUB, wifi modem LCD screen.

So this will help in my search for a psu DC-DC.

          Cheers

The hard part is whether to choose a DC type mainboard as the carnetix stuff caters for onboard DC rather than ATX 20 pin plugs.

It all boils down to, will i ever use this board outside the car?

To answer my own question, I need to build it up and test it before it goes into a car right so sourcing these components for testing is not easy here in Sydney.

              The SAGA continues.
