  • Opus 90W Power Connectors / Cables

I recently bought an Opus 90W PS off of eBay, and unfortunately I've found that it didn't come with the power cables to go from the 20 pin connector on the Opus over to the Motherboard and all the disks. I'm sure I could find just a straight 20 pin to 20 pin cable, but I wanted to use at least one of the disk connectors, too. Checking OpusSolutions.net, it appears they only sell a 150W cable set now, which (from what I can tell) won't work, as it apparently uses a 24 pin connector to the powersupply.

    1) Can someone verify that the 150W cable set is, indeed, not correct for my application

    2) Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase a 20 pin to 20 pin cable with the extra disk connectors? I've e-mail Opus, but I don't expect I'll hear back from them until next week.

    3) Do you think this is the sort of thing I should just try to make myself? I was looking around in Fry's today and I think I saw most of what I would need, but I couldn't find any floppy connectors (I actually need one to provide power to my slim DVD adaptor). Maybe I just need to look harder.

Your thoughts or solutions are appreciated.

    Thanks,

This is what you need. You may be able to get it closer to home, this is just the first site I found that listed it seperately.

You're absolutely right, Fixer. That's exactly what I need! I'm Googling like crazy to see if I can find one in the US, but so far, no luck. If I can't find it, I guess I'll have it shipped over.

      Thanks so much!

I definitely need it. I've checked pretty much every website that carries Opus or Morex power supplies in the US, and no luck at all. So, I decided to go ahead and place the order at that website you found (itx-warehouse.co.uk). Guess what they wanted for shipping (economy)? $51.00

          Um, no thanks.

Anyway, if you do have one, I'll be happy to pay you a fair price for it. If you don't, or if you can't really part with it, I understand. I think my next step would just be to give up on this PS and buy something new.

By the way, I'm in Atlanta. I work in Norcross.

Just to follow up, Fixer took care of me with a spare he had (thanks so much!), but I've also found out that you can special order the 20 pin to 20 pin version of this cable from OpusSolutions.net, even though it's not on their website. It will probably take a little extra time to get it, since it's special order, but it's much better than paying $51 to have one shipped from England!

Thanks again to Fixerofallthings! He !
