Browsing around BG Micro i came across a cigarrette car adapter that will spit out 1.5, 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, 9, to 12 vdc, and I though it might be handy for anyone with one of those gamevue screen with a cheap way to get 7.5vdc. it doesnt list anything like maximum loads or whatnot, but its only $3

Since when is insanity a bad thing?

Yep. I took one of those apart- it's got a 12v linear regulator and a bunch of resistors used as voltage dividers.
