  • Dell SX270

I am purchasing the various components for my 1st CarPC. I will be using a Dell SX270. I am thinking about using the Carnetix P1900 to power the Dell along with the display.

I would like to here how others wired the power supply into the dell. Did you use the the adapter:

or did you wire directly into the unit?

So far, my searches have not provided any useful info.

With either option, do you have photos available for viewing?

    Thanks.........

    Finally, I found some info

I tried a different series of words for my query and I found this:
    -----------------
    http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=67035

    1. Cut the cord from the brick to the power connector. Then make the following changes

Connect the RED and/or BROWN wire to +12V
Connect the BLACK and/or WHITE wire to GND

What I did was connect the RED wire to +12, the Black wire to GND. the Brown, White, Yellow(Future use) and Green(Remote) are just taped up. I did not do anything with the shield as it ties to ground

    -------------------------------------

I won't be wiring the unit directly into the cars wiring as BAHitman did, but rather will still consider using the Carnetix P1900.
