  • Interesting cheap PSU (from Germany)

    Hi there,

    just found this:

    http://www.richterfelix.de/netzteil

Sorry, it is all in German, but to give you an idea:
This PSU was originally designed for a special MP3 project of the well known German computer magazine c't

The price is very reasonable, because the complete set (all parts, transformer, industrial made PCB and a high quality housing with shielding) is about 86 Euro's

And for me it is very interesting that all the parts can be bought easily over here, because it's difficult to get parts for the sproggy (which I originally wanted to build).

    Hi,

I´m from Germany too and Iwanted to build it too, but then I realized that it´s just an AT-PSU and not an ATX.
So it´s unsuitable for modern mainboards.

Perhaps one could built an additional 3,3V circuit in order to run an ATX-Board too, dunno...

But in my opinion, there´s nothing better than sproggy´s psu.
Exept the difficulties in getting the parts...

    P.S.
If you´ve got difficulties with the sproggy parts, try www.farnell.de.
You can get everything exept T6 and the Maxim ICs.

      Hi,

      Vielleicht doch selber wickeln? ;-))

        tsingsu,

I looked at it too, and I don't think winding this transformer is not that difficult..
There's a complete how-to in the manual, and I didn't think it was that simple
        it's got 2 primary windings of 8 and 2 secondary of 15
It's all there in the pictures and I don't think things can go wrong..
and 3.15a @ 12v is more than enough juice we need to power all.

          Raas, what are you saying?

and I don't think winding this transformer is not that difficult
and I didn't think it was that simple
and I don't think things can go wrong..
is it simple or is it hard, or are you saying that it's a lot of work but nothing can go wrong ?
If at first you don't succeed.........

im in the process of collecting the components for a few sproggies for me and my buddies here. Farnell Malaysia sells bothe maxim chips so im sure the Farnell on your side should have them too... I can post the order code if u need them...

Regarding the T6, u can get them directly from coilcraft but they only accept credit card orders from US only. They have a sales office in Singapore and i have emailed them asking for a quote. If u really cant find them, i can get extra and send em to you. Not sure about the price of shipping though..
