  • need help powering n64 without inverter please help

ok i want a carputer but i dont have that kind of budget right now so i want to do a custom n64 install.please help.
ok the n64 power plug uses 6 pins
    3 are ground
    2 are 3.3v 2.7 amps
    1 is 12 volt .8 amps
can i use resistors on the power pins and ground the ground pins and have it work correctly or is this impossible please help

    pinout for reference http://pinouts.ru/Game/nintendo_power_pinout.shtml

i would think not, a car's voltage jumps around too much for simple resistors to help with. wait for others to confirm this tho, i could be wrong.

Yeah, a car's voltage jumps around too much for you to use resistors reliably. In any case, trying to step with resistors means huge losses (dumping 5.4 amps over whats going to be about 10volts?). Your power needs are low enough to try making your own PSU, but the process is sufficiently involved that you might consider investing in a DC-DC convertor anyways.
