  • Would this work?

    Hi guys,

I am thinking as some of you may have seen before, in putting an old house pc in my car boot and powering it with an invertor.

I have found this in the uk...

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?...8723&doy=31m12

If i wired that invertor up as you would a normal car amplifier, with battery, ground and obviously the ignition lead, should that be ok for the normal home pc to plug into? then maybe put a shutdown controller inline with the that inverter to look after the actual pc???? shutdown and start up as needed?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, that will work, but is not the most efficient or elegant solution to powering a PC in your vehicle.
Be certain to get an inverter rated at 1.5-2 times the rating of your PC's power supply.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
