    Hey Guys, I have a M2-ATX running my carpc. I am a computer guy but not good with wiring at all. I had a stereo shop install my audio/video. Well I want to take my pc out of my car and hook it up inside to so some updates and change some maintenance, problem is I have no idea how to do his. I got it pulled from my car but I see there are 3 wires coming from the PSU out of the case

    RED
    BLACK
    YELLOW

    I had a friend check it out and from tests he said
    black=ground
    yellow=power
    red=he isnt sure its only a tiny bit of juice coming from the car (is this to keep it in hibernate/sleep mode?)

    So now my question is, is that all correct up there, and more important how can I get my pc running indoors? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    1st off:

    Red/Yellow are both *power* in this case 12V. The difference between the two is were the power is coming from. Yellow (if I remember correctly, not at home to check) is from the car battery while Red is from the ignition line. The yellow line provides the *real* power while the red line tells when you have the key in the ignition.

    2nd:

    You don't mention how you plan to provide power to your computer in the house...

      Is there a way to convert it to a plug just to get it running indoors? Or even run it off a car battery charger pack? I honestly have no idea exactly how to do it, all I am trying to figure out is a way to have it run outside the car for when I need to do some tweaking, fixes, updates that are time consuming.

            Yeah, follow the FAQ. Don't mess with the install in the car. If it is ATX compliant, use an ATX power supply that runs off of AC in the house.
