Mp3car will stand up the server with the .net packages installed by January 8th!

I've asked them to get the www.osdash.com and .org domains for convenience.

Our goal is to try and get one service and client communicating as soon as possible. Not sure of the progress on the various web services but is there one that will be ready in the next couple of weeks? I see that just_chat might have a vin number service that works.

If we have a Linux client ready to test in the next couple of weeks we can do some testing by the end of January.

Whatever web service we decide to do first, I'll have the Linux client ready to talk to it. We should probably do something simple (that doesn't require authentication) at first to get warm fuzzies about the process...

      Couple questions to go over....

      DB management

Who will create new tables in our server? Many of our webservices will need tables created/edited by devs until a final working solution is created.

I think the best solution is to have super users (like me, bugbyte, and justchat) with auth to edit the structures and make new tables while all others should have at least access to view the raw data.

      File Uploading

Again, who will have access to file uploading? Everyone needs online space to store their webservices, but shouldnt have access to delete anyone elses files.

We are gonna have to somehow let people upload services, not mess things up, and also allow services to see the other services......?

Maybe people should dev locally and then upload once the final version is complete? Thats really the only option that I see.

I'll check into this. I presume we can set up dev accounts on the server so that you can work it out as you please but the actual deployment of the service will have to be handled by a public account of some type, I think.
