Who has rear & sub working with Centrafuse?

I want to build a new Mini ITX machine.

My current laptop setup works great except for the rear & sub controls in Centrafuse. Im using a Turtle Beach Roadie USB sound card and I can control the rear and sub using the mixer screen in Centrafuse.

David said that Centrafuse uses the Windows mixer. So I need a motherboard whose on board sound uses the Windows mixer.

I have tried to get some recommendations on the CF support forum but I havent gotten anywhere. So Im hoping someone on here has all this working right and can tell me what works.

I assume it depends on what type of codec the motherboard uses. The more popular ones I have seen when I have been looking at motherboards is C97 and Realtek. But I really have no idea which one to shoot for.

    Thanks for the help,

    Dwayne

i think david was working on support for the most popular sound cards. any eta on this? it would be nice if we could get support for the most popular 3-4 sounds cards (like u did for the radios). not having rear/sub controls is a big hinderance sometimes.

I have the same problem. It's isn't a CF problem (I can control them fine with built-in sounds card). The problem is the Turtle Beach card doesn't use the Windows mixer, it installs it's own. Because of that, the Windows mixer doesn't even know you have rear and sub channels. Since CF uses Windows Mixer, that's the problem.

I plan to look into adding support for a couple major sound cards, the 3 I have right now to look into adding are Sound Blaster, Turtle Beach, and VIA Vinyl...

Another one id like on the list. Especially if you want to cater to the Audiophiles, is the Auzentech X-Meridian.

and E-mu cards... or would that be covered by sound blaster too?

I wouldnt mind keeping my Turtle Beach Roadie card but since Im building a new machine it would be nice to know what currently DOES work. Such as, do the AC97 and/or Realtek codecs work with the windows mixer?

Im willing to buy what I need to buy to get it to work. I just need to know what that is..??

Here are a couple examples of the boards Im looking at:
(audio for this one is VIA VT1617A)
                  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813153048
(audio for this one is Realtek ALC655)
                  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813153050
audio for this one is VT1618)
                  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813181020

Any pointers David? I just bought a new (used, but new to me) car and I want to build a new setup from scratch. This part is really the only thing thats going to hold me up.

                    Bumping and old thread...
My Auzentech sub/rear isn't controlled within CF yet...
                    Any progress?
What about adding the Auzentech control panel as an external app? Is this possible?
