  • Some problems with Centrafuse

Have installed Centrafuse and Bluesoleil onto my car computer with the Link equipment and I am having a few troubles getting Centrafuse up and working on my desk before I install it into the car.

    1. Bluetooth authentication: I have got the code from the centrafuse website but it refuses to accept it, in lower-case or capitals, any suggestions?

    2. I have my gps unit connected through the USB port but I'm not really sure that Centrafuse is picking it up. Is this because I'm indoors or do I need to do something important? It thinks I'm in Sydney which is 1200km or something away from Melbourne so this isn't a little problem.

    3. I'm sure this links somehow into problem 1, but I want to be able to source my iPhone for music, am happy to do that through the bluetooth connection (as the the centrafuse forum said it wasn't possible through the USB cable) but am unclear how to make this happen, any help would be great.

    Hope somebody can help.

I'd post this on the Centrafuse forum http://forums.fluxmedia.net/ since it pertains to specific problems.

    1. Try opening the BlueSoleil sftware and entering the code provided with Centrafuse, rarther than using CF to authenticate. This might help.
    2. Yes, being inside "might" be a problem Also, make sure you have the correct map area loaded (if Australia is coeverd by more than one map).
    3. That will be the only way you can connect the iPhone at this time, and Bluetooth audio isn't available inside Centrafuse (yet).

      1. I got Bluesoleil to authenticate through itself, but isn't a plugin required for Centrafuse that comes about from this authentication?

1b. I can't get centrafuse to see my iPhone's contacts, is this a problem with the above issue or something else.

      3. Thanks for the info on that, if not having bluetooth audio is a deal-breaker are there any other front-ends that might be worth investigating?

        1. Nope.

1b. 3.1 doesn't support this, but this is supposed to be supported in 3.5.

Yeah, I would try on the CF forums, most of the CF guys (myself included) hang out there.

The only other FE that I would try that might support BT audio is Riderunner. The only reason I say might (since I have no knowledge either way) is that there are so many talented coders and skinners working on RR, the odds are that someone has attempted what you are trying to do before. Can't hurt to go the the RR forums here on mp3car.com and ask that very question.

            1. Once BlueSolieil is authenticated, you're all set. Then it's a matter of getting your iPhone paired with Centrafuse. Again, there is good info on the Centrafuse forums from iPhone users. Importing phone contracts is one of the things that should improve quite a bit in CF3.5.
            2. As mentioned, CF3.5 will support Bluetooth audio and from my experience as a beta tester, I'd say it works just fine.
            3. Once BlueSoliel is installed (or most Bluetooth stacks for that matter) Bluetooth audio is usually available through windows. You "may" find something in RR that can control that process, but I don't think anyone has any direct API support for Bluetooth at this point (although I'm sure there are those that are working on it.)

            Cheers!

Oh sure, you finally break down and buy 3.1, and they make you a beta tester. Must be nice... Wish I could get my hands on the beta! I'm looking forward to the increase in speed and some of the other new goodies/fixes (even though 3.1 works like a champ for my particular setup).
