  • Centrafuse 3.5 troubleshooting

Just installed CF3, still getting used to it. Wondering if anyone would like to shed some light on some of these issues im having with it.

Settings > wifi shows my adapter but the "wifi app" shows "no wifi adapter found"

bluetooth doesn't seem to work with my iPhone 4. It def. has a2dp but CF doesn't recognize it. Its paired with the phone just fine, and knows when im on a call - but audio doesn't come through that either. It seems blue solie doesn't seem my phone as having those capabilites so maybe blue solei doesn't support iPhone?

the boomsbox is not recognized as a radio. Even though when choosing a com port for the obd2 it lists mitchMJZ boomzbox hd radio.

the obd link is connected via usb and powered on - but no com port recognizes it.

Why are gestures alpha based? That seems... not useful. Did you not build in normal left right up and down gestures?

Other than that its really fast.

The lastest bluesoleil does work with iPhone 4. You have it to pair it first via Bluesoleil, then you load CF and configure it there. I tested, place and receive calls no problem, haven't test A2DP though. Make sure you selected the correct audio device in the settings (I think there is an audio device under BT and Phone, other than "general").

I don't have Boombox or obd, I had it in the past, never had a problem. Same with wifi, I actually uninstalled the wifi app from CF, had no use for it, but it was working at the time.

    Hope this helps a bit.

3.1 was SO slow for me. Like - unusable. But 3.5 is instant. So - i'm ok working with the bugs and lack of apps for now. At least I got radio, music and tomorrow ill have GMPC working and hopefully bluetooth will work soon too. Then its all good.

I'm not thrilled with 3.5 either. Seems they always take two steps forward, then change something else that makes it seem like one step back. I do like the Skin Editor software. I think finally I can get into skinning.

GMPC does not work 100% for 3.5 from what I read.
faster is always good. but how much faster?
did they fix the bluetooth issue where if you get a call CF would like freeze up for a few and nothing responds? or the one where CF always takes precedences of the call even though you choose to use the phone itself

well I haven't got bluetooth to work yet. So IDK. I have GMPC running but not in CF.
Is it a known thing that HD radios often switch from HD to non HD?

Frequent switching between HD and non-HD is a hardware and reception issue. There isn't anything in CF (or any software for that matter) that controls whether or not a signal is HD and can be received as such. The hardware determines that and notifies the software.

So what HD radios do you guys think are the best ones to use? The visteon HD radio?

I've been using one (Visteon HDZ300) for a couple of years and really haven't had too much trouble. It's been mentioned any number of times, but the length and quality of your antenna run is going to make a BIG difference in reception and sound quality. A short run and a good antenna means more HD signals more often. A longer run, poor shielding or a weak antenna will result in HD stations degrading to standard FM more frequently. I spend most of my in-car time out on the fringe of reception in Las Vegas, so HD is hit and miss, but downtown it's rock solid.

what about having no bass and crackling the speakers? When i play local music i can pump it really loud. But coming from the radio even when its goto an HD signal, it sounds like my speakers can't handle it.. though i know they most certainly can.

Well, signal reception and what the station is broadcasting (source material) are always going to be a big ? There are some analog FM stations here in Vegas that sound better than some HD stations, and I can only assume that it's because the HD stations choose to broadcast a lower bandwidth source (96 or128kbps). It's a crap shoot, what can I say? But that will be true no matter what receiver you use, so it's not really a hardware issue.

Installed Garmin MObile PC with CF 3.5 and it works fast, and perfectly. However, I tried to change the Skins to Slate and the program crashed, locked up the computer, and now CF 3.5 will not install. I uninstalled the program, cleaned the Registry, removed all files from the system, and rebooted in between each step. So, what the hell is wrong with CF 3.5 reinstalling and working on my computer. Anyone else have this problem?
