  • I can't figure it out! How do I play the WHOLE directory?

Exactly as written above... I go into "Music Manager" and I can press any of the buttons on the left to modify a playlist, but none to select and play the WHOLE directory. I know I can do shuffle all and it will shuffle them all, but I dont want them shuffled... ??

If this is in a manual somewhere PLEASE direct me to it, I couldn't find anything to help. (I did get the manual from the website, but it was a simple version that didnt help...)

    Thanks! -Brett W

Are you trying to add all your music to a playlist? There is already a system shuffle all that will play all your music. The only way to currently add to the playlist is with the + and ++ buttons... You can highlight any selection and recursively add it to the playlist with the ++ button, but there is no way to add all music on your system to a playlist, because thats what shuffle all does... Let me know what you are trying to accomplish...

EDIT: I see what you mean now... The shuffle all might be mis-labeled... It doesn't actually shuffle your music, but adds them in the order they are read... Then once it is loaded you can shuffle through all your music by hitting the random icon on the music screen... So shuffle all is what you are looking for I think, since it loads the whole directory... It will load with all the ID3 names, unless you click it right after you click Directories, which will make it load the whole directory using the filenames...

No, you were right the first time... I have a folder on my desktop called "Music". I setup centrafuse's music directory to point to that. Now when I go into centrafuse and enter the music manager, I press "Directories" and it shows ALL of my songs in there - a really big list. I want to make this whole list my current playlist, not just use + to add a single track. I hope I explained it in detail so you know what I'm trying to do... Thanks!

Also, since people are reading this thread anyways, and ideas how I can get the GPS screen to update without having to touch it? When I am driving, it is supposed to move the map where I drive, but it doesnt update the image on screen until I press a button.

These are the only 2 major things with this release. The other one which I assumed is being worked on is the loading screen. It seems like the program loads A LOT... I installed it in the car today and it really really looks nice in there!

I see what you mean... Basically I didn't put anything in place for that... All my music is arranged in sub folders, which makes it easy to select one and hit ++... If you have all your music in one folder, then it would be kinda hard to add it all... Temp fix will be to just copy all your music into a sub folder or organize into a few different sub folders and you can easily use ++...

What GPS application are you using? I have run mappoint, iGuidance, routis, and street atlas with no problems... Other people have gotten D3 frontend working, but I did read someone else mention this refresh problem.. There is a thread in the main forum about this, you might try posting there...

for the benefit of others reading this thread, I have added a similar post with similar instructions described slightly different.

from my experience... the only way to do this is to have the multiple folders you want to add, nested within another folder/directory you can see from the music manager.

For example if I have "d:\mp3z" as my default music directory for Centrafuse

I would need to have the multiple directories listed under a directory under the MUSIC location root.

                example:

                d:\mp3z
                d:\mp3z\Pink Floyd Albums
                d:\mp3z\Pink Floyd Albums\The Wall, Part 1
                d:\mp3z\Pink Floyd Albums\The Wall, Part 2

by navigating Centrafuse Music Manager to root "mp3z" directory and then select the "PINK FLOYD ALBUMS" and press "++"

++ will add all files/folders contained within the "PINK FLOYD ALBUMS" folder which in this case would be "The Wall, Part 1" and "The Wall, Part 2"

In the future it would nice to perform this "multiple folder" add option without requiring the multiple folders to be nested, but this will require the ability to "group select" folders from the music manger. Seems like this might be difficult to accomplish given there really isn't a way to simulate the "mouse + shift key" keystrokes from touching the touchscreen...

couldnt we have a toggle button, click the toggel button and have it allow you to click one folder and have it highlight it, click another folder and it highlights that one too?

or what about Check boxes? click a check box next to the dir name and then have a button for "ADD ALL CHECKED"???
