  • Bugs/imporivements for Centrefuse

I have version 1.12 I have some bugs/improvements comments I'd like to suggest to you.

1). Can we have a startup loading splash screen. I keep thing its not loading (takes 30seconds to load) and I double click again making two copies open.

    2) Can you put a routine to check and stop CF from loading up twice.

    3) When I come out of hibernate the gamma is reset back to normal. Can it stay at what ever setting it was before?

These might be bugs or improvements, which ever way you look at it.

Once more time thanx and do you have a paypal account for some donations?

Love the program. Thanks David! Not sure if you have this already but is there a way to keep the music from playing on startup? - Thanks!

      1. I will look into adding a splash screen. You say it takes 30 seconds to load? That is crazy... It takes 6-8 seconds on my M10000, timed it with a stopwatch... Something isn't right with your setup if it takes 30 seconds...

      2. I will make it where the exe will not load if there is already a running version...

      3. I had this gamma problem also... I have code in place and it works on my laptop, desktop, and even one of my M10000 (with the newest video drivers)... It doesn't restore gamma in my car though, which is an old setup... It either has something to do with the new video driver, or I am thinking it trys to run the gamma code too earlier, before the screen is initialized... Try updating your video driver and see if it works, if not I will try to delay the gamma restore code and see if that fixes it...

zebelkhan: That option will be in the next release...

bertybassett: Good to know... Well then it seems that my restore gamma mode after hibernations works when the comptuer is hooked up to a monitor and or using a laptop... It seems it might be the lilliput screens not taking the re gamma after resume... I will pull my lilliput inside and my M10000 and get to the bottom of it...

          thanks for the info...

I have the same problem. As much as I love this program two things keep me from using it and only it. One the speed, very slow. Specially loading not quite as slow between menus but enough to make me wonder if I hit the button right. 30 seconds does sound about right to load, I could time it if you need to know for sure. FYI, I'm using a socket 370 Celeron 1000 (maybe 1100) and I believe it's either 256 or 512 ram, onboard video and sound. I understand that the latest version is suppose to be faster but I don't notice the difference between this and the first version. I'm wondering if it's a .NET issue because I have the same speed problem with Phonecontrol.NET.

Secondly, I really really really need a progress bar with which I can move to anywhere in the video/song. Like in frodo or NMC. I listen to audio books alot and it's great that Centrfuse remembers which track I was listening to, but it always starts at the begining, some of my audio book tracks are 70mins long. Really takes a long time to fast forward to where I left off.

I have a gamma issue also, but that alone wouldn't keep me from using Centrafuse. When I exit Centrafuse the gamma is extremely bright and washed out. As far as I know the only way to get it back to normal is to reboot.

keep up the good work and post that PayPal link so I can send you some $$$.

Timmy: I am not sure about your speed problems... sounds like your machine... The first version, all timed with a stopwatch, took up to 10 seconds to go from screen to screen. I can't even time my latest version its so fast... I would say around .1 or .2 seconds... The slowest machine I have tried it on was a P3 800 mhz, with the same results...

I am always working on improving the speed, but I don't think it possible that my new version isn't faster than the first one... I would say its atleast 10x faster....

I am working on the gamma resume from hibernation problem and also coding so that it remembers the not only the song/video that was playing, but the position....

Speed seems pretty fast for me, about 5 seconds startup time,

David - is it possible when clicking on the "video" button it goes right to the video manager, rather then going the play controls

just noticed the loading speed problems are down to phoneco. It will take 20 ish seconds to load phone co and only 8 seconds to load CF.

@ camsgs that would be a good idea the frist time you click video then afterwards I just want to go back to my film at the exact location where it was. Better still an option in the setup menu to do both would be a good fix for this.

camsgs3: I will get a fix for the "." as soon as I can, definetly will be in my next update... For video art I look for two files. you can have a "folder.jpg" in any folder you may keep video files in or you can have a .jpg with the same name as the video file itself. So you if you had "twotowers.mpg" and also a "twotowers.jpg" in the same folder, it would display the image. The folder method is you can have a folder called "Two Towers" which includes "twotowers1.mpg", "twotowers2.mpg", "folder.jpg", this will also display the image when you click on the folder or either of the files...

I will consider the video option, not a bad idea...
