  • Centrafuse/Mapmonkey Praise :)

I just wanted to let veetid know how impressed i am with Centrafuse.

I origionally used voices and had a hard time switching to mediacar/frodo/rr etc due to some of the missing features such as integrated voice control, and perfectly integrated GPS. I recently rebuilt my carpc and tested all the front ends. Centrafuse seemed to have the cleanest interface, ran the fastest, is under constant development and has a ton of really cool features. Simply put i found it to be the most userfriendly frontend out there.

I am not in anyway putting down the developers of any other front ends. This is just my opinion from my extensive testing.

Mapmonkey is amazing and its integration with centrafuse is simply amazing. Everything ties in (almost) perfectly.

veetid (or others): I do have a few questions. Do you know if there is a way to turn the "you are speeding" warning off? Does that need to be done in the mapmonkey setup? Also are there any plans to have centrafuse audio pause or level lower when directions are being given? This may be a mapmonkey thing.

Thanks for all your time and keep up the good work guys!

ryguy: When you say mapmonkey are you actually using MapMonkey embedded in CENTRAFUSE or are you using the integrated Destinator support in CENTRAFUSE? If you are using the integrated Destinator in CF then I will be fixing the audio pause in 1.3... I didn't think mapmonkey properly embedded in CF 1.2... I also fixed that in 1.3... You are probably using the integrated Destinator in CF, which isn't mapmonkey.. Mapmonkey is another GPS application that uses Destinator...

Either way... thanks for the comments...

Yea your right I installed mappmonkey/destinator figuring i needed mapmonkey to get destinator to work on a pc....guess not =D

Mapmonkey opens up in a new window now that I think about it - so you are saying mapmonkey now works with cf in 1.3? Are there any benefits of using mapmonkey vs your destinator integration? I liked a few of the features (plugins) such as trip logging etc.

      Again, great job bud.

I won't have all the features in 1.3 right off the bat, but there are lots of improvements to the the integrated Destinator in CF 1.3...

            LOL, yeah bro

I haven't heard from satish in forever....anyway CF is great

veetid: Is there any plan to implement a way to 'acknowledge' the "you are over the speed limit" message? Ie, once it tells me i can hit ok and it won't bug me again?

I like the feature however it would be great if it wasn't as determined to keep me from speeding

try turning it off in your mapmonkey settings??

i have map monkeyinstalled and dont get that,,,, i also cant get the volume to reduce when directions are given or get GATSO announcements to work in CF

im sure these are all known probs though or we'd have seen some hardcore moaning on here!

Or, if like most CF users, you aren't using Map Monkey for D3, and are using the built-in D3 support you can turn off voice prompt for speeding in the D3 'alerts' settings page.

mapmonkey launches as a window (on top of cf)

d3 integrated fits nicely into the skin and design/features of cf. You'll want to use d3 support

I love the integration of D3 in Centrafuse. I too was initially confused between MapMonkey and the native D3 support in Centrafuse. I'm sure this has been answered before, but the ETA and time remaining don't seem to work properly in Centrafuse. Is this fixed in 1.3?

weird thing is, david integrates destinator in centrafuse. but he's using iGuidance..

which is mainly the reason why i'm getting iguidance.. cause i see the creator of centrafuse using it. just waiting for it to ship.
