  • Text Visibility for Certain Areas

    Hi,

First of all, I love the new skin, in general. Its very attractive and well layed out.

The new sound clicks/beeps are much more pleasing as well.

However, I 've noticed, particularly in the daytime, that the clock, 'mp3', date, and related text items are really difficult to see compared to the last version.

The font is so small on the mp3, date, etc., that it just blurs into its background.

Perhaps a larger font, or adding a strip of blue behind the text may help.

The more important issue is the clock. For some reason, I have great difficulty seeing it during the day.

The track title text is very visible and the clock font used to be larger and bolder.

There appears to be ample space to make the clock larger and bolder.

Since many of us have replaced our headunits with LCD's, the clock visibility is a major issue.

Nighttime driving is acceptable, but during the day, I just can't see it without some major shielding, squinting, and moving my head.

    Thanks,

    -Paul

these are all skin issues & not the app itself.... all of the things your saying can be corrected to your liking in the skin....

I will see if I can make them a little easier to read... the clock takes up so much room to allow for a 24 hour clock used in some countries...

It's very easy to change the size of the text, if you use an XML editor, and modify the skin file.

Check my Amber skin for 1.6 on the SKINS section, and see how I enlarged the text in that area...

Thanks for the replies David and Justin...

That's a good point on the international front, David.

Justin, yes I had thought about customizing the skin in XML...but I felt these issues were "global" enough to bring up in general.

          Thanks for tip though.

Perhaps, David, that text size and weight should be a easily-changed user option?

Most interfaces/GUI's worth their salt allow for the easy changing of these to suit a persons screen and eyesight.

Again, really nice release. I've quickly grown accustomed to the new navigation, and I love it.

          Thanks,

          -Paul
