  • Embedding apps?

Is there anyway to make an app stay embedded if it opens up new windows.

My ECU software opens its guages in a seperate window and it just floats over CF. If I move away from the guages then I can't get them back without venturing into windows

And the guages window tittle names are different from the main app.

Im still awaiting news on whether the developer is going to do an SDK... I don't hold my breath

Have CF embed SKINbedder and have SKINbedder embed the windows as they appear.

I'm willing to help you out as much as I can without the hardware/software.

The link is in my sig.

Using SKINbedder you can create a touch-screen interface for any program. Basically you create PNG graphics for the buttons you want. Then you script the button actions by editing INI files. Through the scrips you can send key-presses to your program, run programs (such as Auto-It macros for clicks if your program does not have hot-keys), and embed sub-windows.

Download it and give it a try. If you have any questions, just start a thread in the SKINbedder sub-forum and I will help you out.

If I were you I'd just cover that entire window with a PNG that has what ever look you want. They you just define button co-ordinates and have them send F? keypresses to the app. You could make it look really cool using SKINbedder, and it wouldn't take much time at all (if you have the graphics skill that I lack).
