omfg, if david made a plugin for auto in car climate control capable of operating some usb phidgets he would make me the happiest little girl on the planet!

no but really, that would be awesome. i dont even think the programming would be a huge problem, i think the problems lies more in the fact that not all blower controls are mechanical anymore.

If somebody programming this could interface it with Motherboard Monitor that would be great (as you can then read your carputer's vitals as well )
I'm going to count on MBM to shutdown my carpc (haven't figured out how though) when it runs hot... it's a full blown P4 with quite a heatsink, but it's installed in a drawer which ends up under my flat red hood and on top of the engine... (yes, it's a strange car, it's an oldtimer van )
CarPC: "Carma" (Car Audio & Route Management) (about 70% ready)
        P4 1.8GHz / 512MB / 4GB CF
        Asus TVFM + B/W camera
        15" touchscreen 1024x768
        BU303
        2x 100Ah
        reinstalling

And all this in a Dutch 1972 CitroŽn HY van called "MurpHY".

Could, but in my case it's an incredible form of overkill
I don't have an A/C, heck I don't even have a real heater... I've got a mechanical switch to choose if the air goes against the windshield or just somewhere in my general direction
Would be quite a workaround to built 100 dollar of hardware to only use the temp reading circuit to read out sensor stuck next to the motherboard sensors

              This it's my idea.....

I have make old time ago this little hardware for RoadRunner, and Guino have implemented this in your frontend.

All for make home made in this thread:

              http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...hardware+Mauri

This hardware read with COM max. 4 differents temp (In and Out of the car for exsample),and dispayed with label the same of RoadRunner, in CF .....

EDIT:I don't sell this, free for all, make home made
