  • Updating a single folder to the Library in CF?

I just today noticed that the option to add a single folder to the Library is no longer possible in RC4. I know for sure it was possible in 1.4.

So, if I copy a single folder (iei, one new album) to my Hard drive, I have to rebuild the WHOLE library database. Is this correct?

I know there is a new feature that says 'Import folder' or something like that, but it is different than what I am asking, because my music files are ALREADY where I want them!

The importer is the only way currently to do this... basically use the importer to copy the files where you want them and they will be added to the database...

a music path folder watching utility is in the works to auto add to the database when a new file copy is detected at all...

      Got it/

Importing is not an option to me, because my music files are never really on the carputer initially. So if I have to copy them over (which I do), I put them in the target location at once. Which makes the import functionality kind of pointless.

In my opnion CF has a significant flaw for now, in that we are required to do a full rebuild to add a single album. For 5000 files, this takes.... several minutes... boring!

      Utility you mention sounds good.

How do you get music to your car? The only people this affects is people who use a network, which is a lot and why we are building the utility...

If you use a CD or USB device to get music to your car then use the Centrafuse importer to copy it to the car and you are covered...

          David,

I use a sync utility over the network to move my new files over to the carPC...
