  • Centrafuse Dependencies

For those of us trying to cut windows down to the bare minimum for space/speed concerns it would be nice to know what exaclty Centrafuse requires. And who better to tell us than the folks that wrote it.

Obviouslly you need anything specific to your hardware, eg bluetooth etc.

What i want to know is what exaclty does Centrafuse 100% rely on?

    WMP?
    Net Framework?

I think it would be a good list to have.

    Cheers

Well i cant find it if its here. And i dont like using other peoples presets. Itd be nice if you could tell us what exaclty is used?

Personally i still dont know how the music playback is processed? Are you just using WMP? Are there builtin codecs to Centrafuse or is it purely going of WMP capability?

All things that would be nice to know. As much as any developer might want to make an All-In-One package deal CarPC Frontend. The nature of this community is we tinker, modify, and like things to our specs.

I use DirectX and do not piggy back off any playback software such as winamp or WMP...

all codecs are included within Centrafuse, not externally installed...

You for sure need MDAC and .NET 1.1

You need a few Win32 DLL's for sure, not sure all of them... All the graphical and shell DLL's for rebooting and drawing to the screen when not using DirectX... kernel32.dll, shell.dll, etc...

I have personally never made an XPE image, which is what we generally do not playing with TinyXP or XPLite, but I hear those are nice...

The distros usually handle all that....

I will help make a list, it should probably be done...

Those come to mind right away...

Great. Awesome start David. You said your using DirectX without piggybacking. So if i was to remove WMP it would still function? Or are you not including those codecs builtin since there usually standard?

you will actually want the codecs from WMP for playback of video files, but not neccesary for audio files...

mpeg2 and divs should work since they are generally seperately installed codecs, but standard avi, mpeg, and mainly wmv and DRM wmv would require WMP and codecs be installed, possibly not WMP, but it's codecs...

Now thinking you will also need the codecs that come with WMP for wma for wma and DRM wma playback and encoding...

note: wma encoding is used in cd ripping

David : Do you know what the dependency is that makes use unable to use minlogon. That is one thing I would really like to use.

I think hes reffering to an issue with NnLite removing some XML files needed for Minilogon.

That would be a dependency if there are any extra XML related files in the system...

I assume most would come with .NET 1.1, but if there is any other options for XML parsing I would add them, maybe some that come with IE...
