  • The BIGGEST CF Beta Problem "Invalid License"

First off, I have to say thank you to David for this excellent front end, which happens to be the best in my opinion.

I have enjoyed beta testing this application since version 1.4, and each time a new beta release has come out it has always gotten better with some reasonable exceptions.

Now to the point of this thread.

I have gotten very frustrated with the licensing of this BETA software. The joy I have gotten from my Carputers has been from using them and showing off to friends. The last thing I ever want to do is re-install any application. I am one of the many people in this community that will purchase Centrafuse, even when it's a beta release. The majority of Centrafuse users in this community patiently wait months for new releases of the Front End only to beta test for a very short period of time until the license expires.

David, alot of people will steal Centrafuse when it's finally released, just like any other application, but I assure you that I won't be the only person who will buy it legit. Not for nothing, but Centrafuse is much better than Streetdeck.

I have three suggestions that I hope you will consider. Thanks

    1) Could you change your Xheo beta trial expire to a release basis, instead of days? This will allow testers to use Centrafuse until a new beta version is released.

    2) Could you disable the "narc" feature in your beta releases that transmits the license information when there is an internet connection available?

    3) Could you increase the trial time limit or possibly sell a license for the beta releases at a discounted price?

I made the license in 1.6 last quite a long time, it should not be expired. As for previous versions as you stated they should be expired by now since a newer Beta is out.

I have been nice and released udpated lic files for 1.4 and 1.5... I did previously make the Beta expiration too quick in previous releases, but it was made much longer in 1.6 and will be the same in 1.7...

I am currently running 1.6, and it expired today. Do you allow registration on your website to generate another serial? I don't want to create a different account on your site to get a new serial. Thanks

It should not be expired, let me check into that. The Phone plugin did expire, but that was a seperate problem that has been addressed.

Try moving the Phone folder from the plugins folder and see if it runs. The license was not suppose to expire until July. If it did, I apologize and I will get an update out.

I am not running any of the plugins, they have all been moved to the inactive folder.

It's not like that. The information will be used when running the tools update utility.
