  • WMA cause's 100% CPU Usage

Whenever I play a WMA file the CPU usage spikes to 100%. I currently RC4 installed, however this has been happening since the beta versions. I have a VIA EPIA MII10000 1GHz MB and 1gig of ram. I have the latest version of ffdshow installed as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

There has been a lot of code rewritten related to WMA's in the upcoming version...

Hopefully this should be resolved, it does increase the CPU, but does not affect the application on my M10000 bad enough to really notice...

I have also included support for DRM protected WMA files and if you do not have a license for a particular file and have an internet connection, the integrated web browser will automatically download the license for you, install it, and you can go right back and instantly play the file...

I've noticed that mine stammers and hangs when I play a certain album.
      And its only a 128bps MP3

CPU doesn't go over about 40% when it does it, can recreat it in the house though

I'm having trouble with WMA files as well. I don't know if it is Centrafuse or the file or what. I used Windows media player to rip my CDs to WMA. And they are stuttering and causing 100% usage. Could it be an OS issue with m10000? Reason I say this is because Windows Media Player is having trouble playing those files without Centrafuse.

btw, This is the first time I started to use wma files. I've never used them before.

Is the WMA issue a problem with the m10000 board? I rebuilt my entire system with CF 4.1 and there are still problems with the wma files. It seems to also be a problem with Windows Media Player.

EDIT: Installed a wmfdist.exe from http://www.un4seen.com/ which fixed the prob in Windows Media Player. But CF still can not play any of my WMA files with being choppy. They are encoded with a standard 128 bitrate, no VBR
