  • Orange Heat (Amber/Orange skin for CF 1.4)

UPDATE! Version 1.05 is here. Fixes a 'resize' bug with the sliders and pause buttons, and also improves the OSK with larger fonts, and other tweaks to OSK.

Here is my release of the amber/orange skin for CF 1.4.
I'm calling it Orange Heat. It has a HONDA logo, but you can easily change this to include your own logo, now that CF supports PNG transparency.

Also, the Clock area has been extended, so you can overlay temperature readings using MotherboardMonitor5 like this.

Lastly, this skin is slightly optimized for 800x480 resolution. The Cover art will appear perfectly square in the Music playlist. (I pre-stretched it a little, so it looked right when scaling from 848x480 to 800x480)

Note: This skin is a slight step back from the original one I had created for v 1.3. It does *not* contain larger windows, and also, it does not change the main button fonts. There are way too many XML config changes involved to make those modifications, and it is not easy to support this from one version to another. Sorry!

I noticed that the sliders in the mixer and the pause icon doesn't resize properly at low resolutions so I edited the image DPI settings to fix it. Just extract the rar into the screens directory and overwrite the files.

justintime: I hope you don't think I'm stepping on your toes by uploading this. It is truly a great skin!

I believe this problem appears *only* when using 848x480 resolution. I have no idea why, but I know others making their own skins have the same issue. It does not occur with the native Blue Ice skin however.

I hope David can shed some light on the issue.

not really sure what the problem is... the slider size in the skin file should be set to the same size as the actual file... you need to make your slider file the size it should be in the default resolution... When I see that the specified resolution is the same as the native resolution of the skin, I do NO resizing of any images to increase load time and save memory, etc... I assume all images are the actual size that is specified in the skin...

                  i also had that problem.

change the buggy screens to 96dpi instead of the normal 72, it'll work. remember to keep the image dimensions though.

had to do it on my pause buttons for dvd and media. also had to do it on the sliders.

                  works great now.

Ah! So, Dave, why are you using 96 dpi on these images?

actually the original was also set at 72dpi.

got the 96dpi trick from predator1, i don't know how he found out.

I fixed the sliders and the pause button in the rar file i attached a few posts up. Dave's original files are 82 DPI and that's what you need to make the files as.

I think all my files are 96dpi, or atleast here they are... that is just what photoshop saved them as by default... didn't really choose the setting... the files are not that large so I stuck with it... I didn't realize changing the dpi would cause problems... I wonder if you just need to have them all the same...
