  • Changing the layout of main screen

What would it take or what file to edit to move the phidget icon to the main screen replacing say the playlist icon and moving that to the tools and web page. The same with the dimmer icon, I think a few builds ago it was on the tools and web page. I would like the map feature in that main page location. SNO

+1 on learning how to do this, as well as how to arrange the layout differently like mirror image layout to place the speedometer - logo on the left closer to the driver.

I think what I will need to do is make it so each skin can have it's own settings that can be changed through the UI. That way, the skin can have an option for Left-Handed vs Right-Handed, and adjust accordingly. If I can do that, then I can probably make it so a skin can have settings for what to display on different screens.

I've thought about this for a while. Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and make this happen.

My job just gave me the most ridiculously over-powered laptop. Development should be on this thing.

I'm making good progress on this. I've got the whole Custom Skin-Settings thing working. Now it's just a matter of figuring out the best way to let these settings control different aspects of the UI. Adding a function for horizontal mirroring won't be too hard. But the ability to move objects between frames is trickier.

There's a new TEST version up on my personal website. Through the Settings window, you can re-arrange the icon grid of the Home screen and the Tools screen. However, doing so is definitely easier when you have two monitors connected, as you can see the changes to the icon locations on one monitor while making the changes in the settings on the other monitor.

This is still a test. It works, but I'm not sure if this is the right way to do things, so we will see.

There are other minor fixes and tweaks as well.

I just updated to newest version. I see the changes and I try and put Phidgets on page 1 pos2 and I moved playlist to page2 pos 5 where phidgets was and the playlist moves but on page 1 where phidgets should go, it's blank and not clickable SNO

That works now, small problem with update not being seen. It scan's the usb drive but says no new update. Maybe you were too quick and it's seen as the same as previous version. SNO

You did remember to unzip it to a folder on the root of your thumb-drive, right? The updater doesn't look inside ZIP files, and it only scans the first level of folders on each drive.

Yes I unzipped it to a folder on the usb drive called DriveLine_Update always worked that way before. SNO

Strange. I used the updater yesterday without a problem. If this ever happens again, try the manual "Scan for Updates" in the Settings window.

Nevermind. I know why it didn't work. The TimeStamp on the EXE didn't change. I only had to fix a skin file.
