  • What type of tags are we supposed to be using?

I've been trying to figure out why the list of music tracks looks so jacked-up in Freeway. Anyone else having this problem? Some of my tracks show artist name, but most show the filename and Unknown Artist in the media library.

Any ideas? I've got about 6500 tracks, so tagging software suggestions are welcome, too.

    Thanks in advance.

Mp3 Tag Studio from magnus brading software. it's the best for mass-tagging, with more features than you'll hopefully ever need. http://www.magnusbrading.com/mp3ts/

i think freeway is still a bit buggy with none-english characters and also id3v2--

Please correct me if i'm wrong. but not about mp3 T/S, cause its the best

Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
      How about the Wiki?

I have a similar problem although I haven't looked into it yet (more pressing issues of getting the pc into the car etc)

There are pretty much two types of tags right? ID3v1 and ID3v2? Perhaps thats what is messing up?

All my tags in iTunes on my desktop are absolutley perfect but it wouldn't surprise me if iTunes does it all a completely different way!

Anyone know if its possble to port iTunes tags to the mp3/m4a files themselves?

Make sure the ID3V1 tags are set.

Are you saying Freeway only works on ID3v1 tags Oeri?

Either way, I'm going to convert my m4a files to mp3s because, as far as I can make out, m4as use some completely different tag system.

I've found that in iTunes I can convert mp3s to any tag version. Just need to know which version is best for freeway. ID3v2 would be nice...
