  • not properly reconizing track numbers thru ID3 tags

For some reason just recently whenever I add new songs and albums frodoplayer is randomly ignoring the track number in the ID3 tags and marking some songs as track number 00, does anyone know what's going on and exactly what could be causing that to happen?

And it's not just one computer it's happening on, I use frodoplayer as my mp3 player on all 4 of my PC's, the same issue is duplicated exactly on all 3 and it's the exact same songs it marks as track 00.

you should probably check what version on ID3 tags this song has. In some cases both versions 1 and 2 exist in the song and frodo reads the wrong one. I had to make all my library ID3v2 ONLY for full compatibility in many programs.

      How do I check that?

I was able to get it to reconize one of the albums right by going in and changing their tracks numbers to 00 and then back to the proper one, though it didn't work on some other ones, one notible thing was all the ones that i've had this issue with were downloaded from the new Amazon.com MP3 store.

You can check ID3 tags using an id3 tag editor. Google it and you 'll find plenty!

Thanks, will try that when I get tonight, didn't even know there were programs to do it since you can natively edit them in windows.

well those programs allow you to edit large numbers of songs much faster! some of them can even get the data from the Internet based on the file name (song name) and add the tags automatically and also you can easily rename the files according to the tags or the opposite, create tags according to the file names. ALSO you get access to BOTH versions of ID3
