  • how does frodoplayer interface with radiator?

(sorry for the double post (two forums up the hierarchy), ignore it, this is the one)

how does frodoplayer interface with radiator?

why do i ask this? here's the situation:

radiator doesn't support the usb radio device i've got here (avermedia b800).
however, i do have an sdk for the device (which i've verified to work).
i don't really want to go through the trouble of writing a plugin for radiator (i haven't done windows programming before, just unix, and i don't want to waste days finding the right compilers/etc to make the plugin).

so, i looked at radiator and saw the `remote control' program (rc.exe) and figured frodoplayer would use that program (and i could just write a replacement program for rc.exe). however, frodoplayer doesn't seem to use it (or at least not the one in the radiator install dir).

the rc.exe interface seems sensible and i would like to make something similarly simple.
    any suggestions/ideas/comments?

I've got one of those radios. If you can wait a while I will add support.

depends on how long `a while' is

anyway, if the interface is simple enough, i will probably be tempted to make something quick 'n dirty (the carpc is planned to go operational the next weekend).

so if there is a simple answer to (or a pointer to info on) how frodoplayer and radiator communicate, i would like to know.

You would have to emulate the radiator program itself.
