  • STUPID question, never had an MP3 before. I don't understand what the skins show

I am recent convert to Frodo, I just really like monkeys. After checking out his stuff, I had to change. I am still working on getting the radio done. I want to convert all my music into MP3's. I notice on the skins that there are lists of music with names, and I want to have the same thing. If I convert my CD's into MP3's, can I set it up the same way? I ask this because I was looking at the skins, like the skin below I took from the skins thread. It has two different lists. One looks like an album, and the other looks like the songs in teh Album. How did they do that. I know this sounds completely ridiculous, but I have just never had music on the computer or the car. Thanks for the help.
Round VIII - [IIIIIIIIII] 30% Have some parts for 300zx Sema car I don't own yet. Will have 10.4" & 7" screen, and more then you can believe. Will add updates to cleancustoms.com, will be sweet. My car is still same, but might change.

Firstly you have to rip your CDs into the MP3 format with ID3 tag info (ID3 tags contain all infor about the song. e.g. Artist, Title, Album, etc...)

Secondly in frodoplayer you have to build the database based on where you stored your mp3 files.

I know this was pretty general, but there is a lot to explain.

Believe it or not, that was not that general. I think I found some software free that will turn my CD's into MP3's. I do need to make sure I get the tag information, which is one thing I wanted to know existed. Thats how little I knew, that there was, and I could get, that information that belonged with it. Thanks for the help. I need to play around with frodo to figure out how to build the lists and all that. I am trying to get some MP3's so I can test it all out. On aol you can download as many songs as you want for 1 dollar a month, I think I am going to try that out for a little bit just to check it out and build a library. With the amount of time it would take to copy my CD's, I think its worth it.

I suggest you try Extact Audio Copy http://www.exactaudiocopy.org
It works very well and can get your album info from the net via freedb.
Or you could use iTunes as its ripping is very fast.
