  • Resuming on power loss

Frodo, if I may ask.. you know when you exit FP, FP saves the states and settings, so that when you open FP again it will resume where it left off?

Can you save those states and settings every 5 secs or so? Then if the computer reboots or crashes and you have to restart windows from scratch (for some reason hibernation gives me a blue screen 50% of the time) then it will simply continue where it left off whether it was showing a video clip or playing a CD.

If there's too many states and settings to save and you are worried it will affect performance, maybe you can save in smaller increments, for eg, if you press Back or Forward, or raise volume, you can make it save only the state that changed since last time. I'm sure with databases it will be fast.

    What do you think?

Some of them are saved, some of them aren't.
    This oversight will be corrected.

        Frodo,

May I know where/which file do you save the current settings on which song is being played, time remaining, volume level, list mode etc?

is that on the C: drive? or where we install FP?

I installed FP on my D: drive, and everytime I restart the computer, it defaults back to the same previous settings. Only my C: drive is write protected

I'm on HORM XPe EWF, similar to ReadyOn

Is there any news on this Frodo? Is it in Take 4?

Also, I find that everytime I resume from hibernation using readyon/XPe, the random shuffle is not random at all.

Lets say the first song it plays after resuming from hiber, is Britney Oops I did it again, and the next song (shuffled) is Linkin Park, and the next is Evanescence - every single time I resume from hiber, I will play the song in that order in shuffled mode. If I switch off shuffle and switch it on again, it will still follow that sequence. If I exit FP, and open it again and then I turn on shuffle, then it will not follow that sequence.

I think this can be fixed if everytime the user clicks shuffle, it generates a new random list of all songs, instead of generating the random list once per FP run.

                Hope this feedback helps
