  • Frodoplayer and Skin Question

I have in my car an Empeg MP3 player... it was an early model MP3 player for the car utilizing laptop hard drives and runs linux (www.riocar.org for info)... Anyway, I use this as my primary MP3 player since it seems to be more reliable than my car computer is especially in colder weather. I have a program that was written that gets all of the information from the player and displays it on the monitor. You can also access the player controls and what is playing through ethernet cable (which is how I monitor now). There is a web page built in that gives access to now playing, database and other functions... I do not see myself getting rid of this player. I currently use my carputer for GPS and XM mostly although on trips it gets used for movies. What i would like is a skin that queries the player via the built in web page and displays this on a skin... the skin would then also give me access to GPS, XM and everything else in Frodo... Basically I'd be adding in controls for the player via web calls and a now playing area. I'd want this to carry over to GPS skin but nowhere else and basically have the XM change the player to an AUX input (this also is doen through sending commands through web page... my setup goes from PC into Empeg and then Empeg out to power amp so Aux input of Empeg is how I access PC sound and Empeg controls all volume - using Kenwood remote).

I would love to do my own skin but I have no idea how to do the web page calls nor how to display them on part of a Frodoskin IF this is even possible... Can anyone help me here? I can provide all of the necessary web information to someone if anyone can help me get the initial code going for how to do this.

    Please help

Send me your email and I'll send you some... IF you can let me know how to do this...

I have the XSL file that goes on the player and then it's accessed via XML

I'm not sure, but you can post it and I'll take a look.
