  • Scroll arrow size adjustment?

Hi all, I have been using ME for a couple of months now and it is GREAT! however, there is one little annoyance I want to try and fix.

I use a touchscreen as an input device to control ME and sometime when I try to scroll up or down in the MP3 directories my fat fingers may be a mm or two off and accidentally 'click' on a song rather than the up/down arrow. Is there any way to increase the size of the touchable area of the arrows? I never us the far right side of the screen to 'click' on songs anyway so if the up/down buttons touchable area was around 2-3cm wider it would be much easier to scroll the lists.

Anyone know how I can change it? or would i need to somehow hard-code it in? (my VB skills date back to 1999 - 2000, so they are VERY rusty). I have tried mucking around with resolutions but to no avail.

    Thanks in advance.
    - Ed

That should be able to be set in the desktop properties. Like where you set the color of the title bars, icon background, etc. Should be in your display control panel. That's where it is with 2000/XP

I meant the scroll bars in Media Engine, not in Windows. You will see the when you click on 'Music' and if you have too many MP3's in the directory to fit one screen.

The scrollbar size is a ratio to the screen size.. You can't change them
              Get MediaEngine !!!

I was hoping you wouldnt say that

Fry, I touch on the arrows and they work. But if I am a LITTLE off the arrow (which happens due to my fat fingers) then the song that is in line with where my finger 'clicked' starts to play, which is very annoying.

Just revising this post, im wondering if its possible to REDUCE the size of the clickable area for a song. So rather than the clickable area being the entire line accross the screen for the song, it take up 3/4 of the screen instead.

                  this possible?

                    dont think so...

could try playing with the skinning prog but dont think youcan do it that way either,

                    youcan however,....

reduce the size of the text of the titles of the songs (get that??!)

thus maybe, reducing the clickable area....
open the .skn file in notepad and have aplay around withfont sizes etc....

                    hope this helps.

I can tell you that it wouldn't work. I think media should have just made that area exclusively for scrolling.

One more thing. For the people that has problem with touchscreen and that scroll, it's because you had your touchscreen properties set either to "Click on touch" or "Click on release". It does not work with either settings. You'll need the "normal" settings to make it work.

Sometime in the future, when I'm fabing my console, I'll make 2 buttons on the right side of my screen that linked with those arrows.

Is it possible to make the scrolling actually scroll instead of paging? I know paging is faster, but it just doesn't look to appealing. maybe holding on arrow to page?
