  • problems installing ME 2.1.5 on win98

    hi,

I can not install ME on my Win98 pc.
the install programm hangs when the progress bar is on 100%.

on my other pc running winXP it works...

what requirements are there to run ME under Win98 ??

my Win98 pc is a: 400MHz AMD, 192 MB ram and a 60 gig hard disk.

    thanks for your help

I am also having problems installing on Win98se. It hung for me too. I just hit cancel once it hung and I thought everything was all good, but after I did the set-up it didn't work. I tried a couple of things to fix it but they didn't work. So I figured I would just uninstall and install again. But when I tried to reinstall, the install just acted as a uninstaller. I can't even get it to try to install ME again. I really need some help too, ME was going to be my program of choice but now I have to start looking elsewhere.

MediaEngine is not designed to work with windows 98. The install screws up for one thing. Do this... Run the installer.. when it dies at around 100% just end the task. MediaEngine will be installed. Or get windows 2000 / XP.
      Get MediaEngine !!!

It hangs because it can't register mswebdvd.dll and msdxm.ocx. Do end the task when it hangs on 100% and then the solution is to get the Windows ME versions and register them yourself.
