  • Problems loading Routis

Ok, i chose media engine as my frontend cuz it's purdy. Now, i got everything on my carputer hard drive setup and working except this one little hitch. Routis is my gps software. It works fine when i launch it from the start menu. When i first add it to my external apps list in media engine it launches fine. However, when i restart the machine and then again try to launch routis from media engine routis gives me an error reading something like "sound files missing or corrupted, please reinstal from cd" Then media engine locks up and eventually hasta be forced to close. Now, if i close media engine down and launch routis from the start menu (even right after the error) it loads up fine. Again, this doesn't occur right after i add routis to the list, only after i reboot. Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug? Thanx.

This is a problem for anyone who uses Routis within ME.

    Check this:

Try LMF 1.1 or RoutisLauncher 1.0. One or the other should fix the problem. I downloaded them a while ago, but haven't tried them out. I have a fixed keyboard next to my driver seat, so I've just been running Routis and ME separate and using alt-tab.

P.S. Next time This exact issue was covered.

P.P.S. To use alt-tab with ME, make sure the "always on top and in focus" option is unchecked in the settings. Sometimes you may need to open the other app first, since ME won't always alt-tab if there's nothing to switch to.

P.P.P.S. I'd love to have single "alt-tab" and "ctrl-alt-del" buttons on my dash. Don't feel like messing with that soldering and stuff, though.

Yeah, I gave the routis loader a try and it still locks everything up. Aparently it closes quicker than media engine can keep up with or something. LMF works great though, thanx for pointing that out. Only problem with it is i hafta close Routis manually THEN close LMF to get back to media engine. But hey, i can't complain, at least it's workin'. Thank you much.
