Is it possible to use buttons externaly. Like i used to use a 15 buttons to control my winamp. They were connected thru my com port of my pc.

    That would be pretty sweet.

no more touching the screen when i need to change te volume or to switch from application real fast within media engine

One possible solution: phidget. Search for it.

The only thing i can find aboutphidget is that it can be used to control sensors or your volume control.

I'm looking for something. like 6 buttons one button to switch to gps an other button to change to te dvd player. Yet an other button to turn of the screen or to mute the sound.

It's more like i want a possibility to control the touchscreen functions by hand thru buttons on my dash or on my steering wheel.

My suggestion would be hacking up an infrared or RF remote. That or a keyboard.

Go to phidgets.com and view the projects section. There's one particular project, the flight simulator, that use dozens of buttons. Also visit promixis.com and check out their girder product.
