  • How do i make girder work with ME as shell?

    Hi again guys,
i'm trying to figure out how to use media engine as shell and run girder on startup... how is that done?
Do i have to add some command for the gps unit aswell or does it start automatically?
    Thanks
    Seb

I've never tried this, but can you create a .bat file that runs all the programs you need to run on startup and point to that in your registry as the windows shell?

Forgive my ignorance, but since I've never tested it let's just confirm that nothing in the registry key:

      HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

is launched when you use M/E as the shell?

If that's the case, I guess the better solution to this is to add code to M/E to parse that key and launch what it finds.

I have code from carshell that runs everything in the startup folder (except for its own exe) when it boots as shell...

I have to dig it up but i can send it ober to you if its helpful...

PS I am getting married this weekend, so it might be awhile...

Could you do that? Thanks, that would be most useful

If PhatBastard can add the code to ME so it launches everything in the startup folder would be great but the code from carshell can be useful aswell ;-) Many thanks and congratulations on your marriage!

gpedit.msc, then edit from explorer.exe to girder.exe, after that have girder setup to run media engine on startup/run parameter. works perfect for me. Never any focus issues or anything. For a little bit extra of a seamless look change your windows background to the identical background you have in media engine. It will look beautiful.

Thanks!!! I didn't notice that function in girder
The background idea works perfect aswell.
                Cheers mate
