  • Why is Media Engine so slow???

Currently on via epia 800, 30 gb hd, 256 ram, laptop dvd.
it seems so 'laggy', every time I click on something theres a delay, such as when I'm playing a mp3 song, I click on open playlist, it takes a few second until anything happens. Is this normal?

hopefully that will be fixed in this upcoming version. I get a pause with mine but thats at the loading screen.

You can say I have a lot. About a good 20 gb of only mp3. but the thing is not only when I load the playlist but even when I exit its slow.

i have around 25 gigs of mp3s but they are all albums.. so when i load one playlist only like 14 songs load. Are all your mp3's in one directory?? or maybe do you have like 200 in one dir or something?

True. But it should not matter in the upcoming version. It is all going to be auto scanning auto updating database.
              Get MediaEngine !!!

hey, I have this same exact problem man.. And I have an EPIA as well. I thought the problem was my lack of ram <100mb, but maybe not???

BTW: I don't have ANY songs in my directoy, it's clean...

i have an AMD 1800XP and on small directories (1 album) it's instant..... on one of my large folders (4,000 songs or so) it takes a good 20 seconds to load.....

i presume you're moving over to a database setup? that would be sweet
