    a) When i hit the shutdown button it just restarts the comp.

    b) when ask to play mp3 it says "error cant find winamp press quit"

    c) Need the ability to fast forward / rewind a track when playing mp3 right now it just goes to the next and back. (using touch screen)

Im using 98SE as well, when I choose shutdown in MediaEngine, it doesnt even shut down, let alone restart - the program hangs showing "Loading" in the center of the screen. I don't bother using this option.

Could it not be Windows at fault rather than ME ? I have see this on the OS and there is a fix on the MS site.

Er, no. Windows shuts down fine, just not from within Mediaengine, its definately an issue with the shutdown call used in Mediaengine.

Did you already try updating the .exe as suggested in the first thread on this page?

I also have the shut down problem with Windows Milliennium Edition. Media Engine just hangs, no shutdown at all. Its not the OS its Media Engine.

I was told to upgrade to 2000 or XP.

Heh. Well the mediaengine shutdown code is written per microsoft's recommendations... It works fine for me and many others... I think it is a hairy deal... You must understand that mediaengine is meant to run in a car environment on a clean PC... Perhaps..
