  • Problems Setting up ME as default shell for win98

I have been testing a computer for home use (plan to use it as home stereo, dvd, etc). But when i try to set ME to be the default win 98 shell i get an error message saying i have to reinstall windows and the computer shuts down. I also would like to know how to prevent windows to ask me for a network password every time i turn on the computer (i have maped the music directory from my main computer to be able to play mp3 from there.)
Thanks in advance for your help.

Try renaming ME install directory to something shorter. I think it is a problem with directory long file name. It worked for me.

Alternatively, use the "dos" version of the filename....

            eg, "Program Files" becomes "PROGRA~1"
