  • V2.0, What do I do if movies/mp3's are on different drives?

Hi, I have a slight problem, my Movie directoy is on one drive, and my MP3 directory is on the other. I am forced to do it in this way because of limited hard drive space.

In 2.0 I no longer have the option for a "mp3 directory" and a "movie directory". How can I have a database for both my movies and mp3's?? Thanks

The information on that page worked!! I just made a folder "c:\media" (my C: drive is NTFS) and then I linked my D: and E: drives to c:\media\movies and c:\media\mp3 respectively.

        excellent!

Now if I can just find out why my MP3 section takes 2+ minutes to load each time I restart ME 2

Are you opening a list generated in another app? If so try generating your playlist after the database is online (usually takes a couple seconds to reconcile). If not, look in your program directory for a file named me_audio.m3u. Open it in notepad, and if the first line of the file doesn't start with '#SELECT .... blah blah' then you should try re-creating the playlist. I've loaded lists of 2000+ songs in less than 2 seconds if they are using the database as it was intended.

Well, In another post I think you had answered my question, for some reason it only does it if a) the auto switch to MP3 mode is enabled. or b) I go to MP3 mode too quickly after the program loads.

Other than that, I already have it up and running in my car, and am loving some of the new features. I was surprised and happy as hell when my video resumed playing where it left off!!!! same with the songs. I also like that the Shut-Down remote button works anywhere,

            edit: fixed hibernation problem

Sometimes you can't mount a drive under a pathname if there are system files on both devices. You might "add" the drive location to the path.. Or the other problem is that you might not be set as an administrator...

I dont think you can hardlink directories with fsutils, but I might be wrong. I do know that a utility called junction.exe does do this. Think you can find it @ http://www.sysinternals.com
