  • Volume problem

    Hi RD & all

i now have my new GPS mouse installed, freedrive is working fine except for the volume problem that's been bugging me from the start !

If I set my soundcard & amp volumes to give me a reasonable range in Mobile Impact (as in 0 = quiet & 100 LOUD), as soon as I start to use freedrive it blows the doors off !!

At a guess, the freedrive volume is 2x as loud as MI on 100 ??

Is there ANY way to balance these two to work together ??

I have tried butchering the config.ini in mobile impact to amplify it a bit more, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

i can't find any volume level control in freedrive.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

BTW - RD, what happened to all those pix i put up of my install ?? they seem to have dissapeared from the uk forums and here ?

Yes I found that the pictures had dissappeared so I removed the post. Can you post a new one with pictures? I have seen a few complaints about the volume in FreeDrive. Both Mp3's and the Wav files in FreeDrive use the same part of the soundcard, so there is no way to seperate the volume settings.

    I hope this helps.

      Hi RD,

I think what happened was my host had a glitch for 24 hours & then seemed to restore from an old backup, I didn't notice it for a week !

Will post it all again later today - sorry

I looked at mapmonkey last night & although it seems a lot more complicated to get running than freedrive, it does appear to have a volume control built in. Maybe it's the way forward for me & the vol problem.

Let me tell you that MM is no hard to setup (just an .exe and then apply a couple of patches).... and if you refering to "volume control" to control your MP3s volume the answer is yes (well for sure media control works for FP and winamp)
