  • Shutting Down with Mobile Impact

Small problem, if I shut down using the start bar the pc shuts down fine but if I shut down using moblie impact I get the "it is now safe to turn off your computer" screen, how can I fix this?

    Thanks.

What Windows version are you running? I have only seen that screen up to Windows ME, and Mobile Impact doesnt run correctly on anything less than Windows 2000 Pro.

I have never seen that on Windows XP Pro. Thats really strange! Is anyone else getting this? It works perfectly every time that I try it on several different machines. Do you have anything dissabled for shutting down, or do you have advanced power management turned of or something? Take a picture with a digital camera of the screen and post it, I would like to see this.

I'll try and take a picture tomorrow. It shuts down fine on the home pc, my other problem (with divx) doesn't happen on the home pc either... If only these things were the other way round!

This is really strange how your car pc is having a problem with the video/visualization and now this problem. I would take a closer look at Windows and maybe even wipeout and reload or something. I would also remove any startup components, and registry items, just to eliminate the possibility of it interfering. Was this a special or custome windows installation or something?

I would have a look at your DPMI and power settings within the BIOS. That error message is generally because of powersettings.

Agreed, however the statement that it works ok, when he does it from the Start button doesnt support that theory. Thanks for the input.

It is just a standard install of XP, I will try a repair or re-install as there is only 3 programs installed so I won't lose any info, just need to find the time to do it. Actually I've just tried shutting down using mediacar and that shuts down fine so maybe I'll look at the start up components etc first. Thanks for the ideas.

FYI here is the screen I get, not sure how well you can see it though!
