  • Why so few skin choices?

Ive downloaded most of the front ends available out there, and MI and RR are my two favorites. RR just has too many "buttons" that I don't need that are just clutter for me, although that RX-8 skin looks good so Ill try that out; MI is so easy to install and use I was wondering why so few skins for it? I would think a lot more people would be all over it developing custom skins and sharing with the rest of us?

Yep, me too, but I guess everyone likes the default skins so much they dont want to change. I have seen a couple of basic skins made for it. The fact that the controls cant be moved or resized may have alot to do with it. Why dont you try making one for it. If its really good, then I will post it on my site. Thanks.

I plan on at least trying, other things are higher on the priority list right now. I just built a new home pc and my Photoshop cd is missing so I have no good program to work with right now anyway.

yea, i'm pretty sure the biggest reason is the static buttons/controls, doesn't give much flexibility with skin making besides color scheme...

however, as a default skin, it's handsdown great, it's a very clean, very sophisticated looking skin, yet so simple and easy to use, It'd be nice to have a day/night switch, but the skin accomodates both times fairly well, so it's not a big issue at all.

Any plan on changing from static buttons to the movable ones in future releases?

I probably wont make it be able to move and resize the controls. Mainly in that it takes a lot of additional coding that might cause the program to slow down and it also gives it the opportunity for more problems. I have the ability as shown in Mobile Emulator. I even coded a skin builder for that. I found that half the code is dedicated to accomodating those changes in the controls sizes and positions.
