  • Designing new skin...

Question could be funny for the expert programmers but....how can i design my own skin for MediaCar??

There is some particular program or what?

    Thanks...

You will need an image editor program, such as Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro, and a basic text editor (such as Notepad).

Take a look at the default skin image files and the .skin files and go from there

Do we still need a program like a skin maker, to bound all the buttons to the program?

What does MediaCar use for skin maker?

Currently there is no skin-maker program.

All current editing is done by manually entering the x,y,w,h values for the buttons in the .skin files, in a program like Notepad.

There a program out there that can give me x/y Values? OR is it a guessing game?

I'm guessing that if you're designing a new skin, you'd have something like PhotoShop. In PS, drag out a selection box, and then to get the x,y,w,h values, right-click in the box and go to "Transform Selection". The Info pane in the top right (by default) will show you the x,y,w,h values

There were some websites I picked up on the forum that had custom buttons we could use in making our own skins. I can't seem to find them in my favorites folder.
Can someone list some here in this thread for us?

                Thx.

                Update:
I did find http://www.wincustomize.com/, does anyone have a link to the page on wincustomize that has the relevant icons for MediaCAR/MediaEngine?

Many of the Icons out there have the .ICO extension.
Now do I need to get a Icon editor program to open these files? Photoshop would not open them as-is.

                    mag,

Do a google search for photoshop ico plugin

You'll find a plugin which will read .ico files in Photoshop
