  • Free DVD player for MediaCar

I've searched the whole internet for a free DVD-player to use (embedded) in MediaCar. But after trying a lot of programs I found out that they didn't fit into Media as I wanted them to be.

So I decided to create a DVD player myself, and after testing it this afternoon, I found it very useful, especially for the first edition

    It has the following features:
    - Play, Stop and Pause of course
    - Next and Previous chapter
    - Menu (for going back to the DVD menu)
    - Full screen (very handy in MediaCar)
    - Hiding and showing the whole menu
    - Embeddable in MediaCar

Iíve added the program as an attachment, please leave your comments on this. Just unzip the file in your MediaCar dir and adjust the DVD settings in the MediaCar setup (see: setup.jpg)

(Sorry for my English, but thatís not so good all the time)

when its not running inside MC how do I exit? Theres no exit button/menu? I was going to write one specifically for MC also, but if this works out theres no need. Are you willing to share source?

              Frodo

I didnt see that. I just put one together, DirectShow makes this stuff really easy. Does yours integrate with the brushed metal skin?

I was trying to get mine to look like the rest of MC, where can I take a look at the Frodo Dvd Player?

If anyone is interested in the source-code, here it is. Note that it is coded in Visual Basic, beacause that's the main code I use.

Is there any chance of making the controls larger? Maybe even the ability to relocate them to the bottom of the screen?

i've tried every dvd software i could get my hands on and so far igmt's program is the best for mediacar. i don't know how hard it would be to make a few changes but if it's not too hard it would be perfect with mediacar if the controls were bigger and would autohide after a period of time.
